About Brown & Brooke

Brown & Brooke are an independent Estate Agents selling and letting properties in Blackheath, Greenwich, Charlton and surrounding areas of London, UK.


As a small local business established in 2006, initially focusing on buying and selling property from a single office located at the Blackheath Royal Standard, we have grown an impressive portfolio of 'Sold' properties over the past 10 years.

In January 2016 we opened Residential Lettings, offering competitive agency fees and property management services and have been slowly growing our portfolio of 'Let Agreed' properties, with a 'little help from our friends' - local developers, buyers and landlords we met over the years.

We are OPEN 6 DAYS A WEEK: Monday-Friday 9-6pm and Saturday 9.30-5pm, so if you are in the area, feel free to pop in and say hi!

Our director, Steven Brown (who works in the office during the week, plays golf and volunteers at the Blackheath Rugby Club at weekends), will probably get you to come along to a Saturday rugby game (an awesome family day out for sure!).

Our team of local property experts: Alan, Carol and Paige, will probably try to convince you to move south of the river (as this is the best place to live, work and raise a family!), get involved with the local community (by supporting Halstow Primary School fundraising events) or adopt a cat (from the local Cats Protection branch across the road).

Brown and Brooke Tenant Fees

At Brown and Brooke we like to keep it simple & straight forward so there are no hidden fees or hidden costs. So Tenants, what is included in your Tenancy fees & charges?

Holding Fee
A holding fee is what is required to secure your property, take it off of the market, to start referencing & then deducted from your rent due in advance. Please note, this is a non-refundable amount subject to failed references or Tenants not proceeding on their own accord.

Brown and Brooke calculate rent per week and per calendar month from the annual rental income for the chosen property. Please note deposit amounts will vary from property to property, but the rest of our fees are fixed for every tenancy. Please contact us if you should have any questions.
